Retired since 2010, he spent his career working as a clinical psychologist with an analytical approach. For over 30 years, he taught teenagers. In parent-child relations, he favours respectful exchanges without one dominating over the other. He also has years of teaching experience at the universities of Montréal, McGill, and Concordia. He is often called upon to comment on current affairs in the media.
Phil Jarvis, Moncton, VP of the National LifeWork Centre and distribution specialist of teaching tools in the educational environment to 100,000 schools around the world.
Millions of students and adults in education, government and industry settings across Canada and around the world use career resources that Phil Jarvis helped create. He has trained thousands of educators, career and workforce development specialists. Among the honours received during his career are the Stu Conger Award for leadership in Career development in Canada (1999) and Stu Conger Gold Medal for exemplary contributions to career development in Canada (2004).
Myriam Maheu,
Special education advisor & orthopédagogue.
She holds a masters degree in education from the Université de Montréal. She was on the board of directors of the Association québécoise des troubles de l’apprentissage (AQETA) from 1993 to 2004. She has been involved in the educational environment in Montreal since 1996, where she specializes in children with learning disabilities.
Dr. Stephanie Marshall, Chicago, author of The Power to Transform, member of the Clinton Global Initiative and other organizations such as The Economic Club, The Commercial Club, The Executives Club, and The Chicago Network.
Dr. Marshall is internationally acknowledged as a pioneer in leading educational transformation in the United States and abroad. Among her many accomplishments, she is the founding president and President Emerita of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy®. She has experience in every level of education: elementary, middle school, high school, and university. In 2005, she was inducted into the Lincoln Academy of Illinois, the highest State distinction for contributions to the betterment of mankind. Norm O’Reilly, Ottawa, sport management specialist.
He has taught in many universities (Syracuse, Stanford, Laurentian, and Ryerson). He is currently an associate professor in sport management, specializing in sport business at the Ottawa University, where he teaches in French and English. He also studies the impact of the use of technology in classrooms on the character development of children. He has participated in numerous conferences and has even earned eight Best Paper awards. In addition to being an active researcher and committed member of the Canadian sports milieu, he is a consummate athlete. Among his accomplishments, he has climbed Mount Aconcagua, the Americas’ highest summit.
Geraldine Wickert, speech therapist
For over 10 years, she worked with children and adults showing various disabilities (speech, voice, language and learning) in a private practice in Europe, all while serving as an internship supervisor. She presided over the RAOFO (Regroupement des Audiologistes et des Orthophonistes qui travaillent en français en Ontario) from 2000 to 2008. After having worked 6 years in various school boards in Ottawa, she now exclusively works in a private practice where she welcomes children with verbal learning disabilities.
